This Cookie Policy explains how UPSC AI Notes (upscainotes.in) uses cookies and similar browser storage. We keep this deliberately minimal.

1. Our approach

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics-tracking cookies, or any cross-site trackers, and we do not follow you across other websites. We use only what is needed to make the Site work and to remember your preferences and purchases on your device.

2. What we store on your device

These are saved in your browser’s local storage (not traditional cookies) and remain on your device:

• uain_theme — your light/dark theme choice.
• uain_verified — your name and number after you verify, so we can greet you and sync your progress.
• uain_tokens — your proof-of-purchase access tokens, so unlocked tools stay unlocked.
• uain_email — the email used to restore purchases.
• uain_streak, uain_stats, uain_qotd — your daily-question streak and practice statistics.
• uain_verify_skip — remembers if you chose “skip for now” on the verification step.

These are strictly necessary / functional: they let the site keep you signed in to your purchases and remember your settings. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them — which may sign you out of purchased tools until you restore by email.

3. Third-party cookies

• Razorpay — during checkout, our payment processor may set its own cookies to process your payment securely. These are governed by Razorpay’s policy.
• Cloudflare — our hosting and security provider may set strictly-necessary cookies to protect and speed up the Site.

4. Managing cookies and storage

You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time. Please note that strictly-necessary items are required for core features to work (for example, keeping you logged in to the tools you bought).
